  26. What if you had a version of pc-task that instead of emulating
  27. (interpreting) each piece of a pc executable one at a time into motorola
  28. code, and then executing it, instead interpreted it all at once and spat
  29. the result out as an amigados file ?

  31. Fine in theory. No problem. Up until now though, opinion was that it'd
  32. require an AI to do it, so as it could handle differences in os's, etc.
  33. E.g. Translating the intel instructions is easy; getting a pile of them to
  34. do the desired effect on a motorola based os is not.

  36. My guess is that they have some sort of Expert System in place. It has been
  37. mentioned by the author that it is not entirly fool proof or perfect yet...
  38. They perhaps also have a Neural Net(s) tied up in it also, so it can
  39. 'learn'.

  41. The Q system supposedly can take Quite Some Time to do the translating.
  42. Hours. But you only need to do it once for a given program.

  44. Had a simular idea myself; but it was more based on genetic algorithms and
  45. computers we might have in 5 years time :-)

  48. so foolish as to dismiss the idea out of hand.

  59. Yup. I belive there was also a Quick and Dirty dos 'Q DOS'; later renamed
  60. MS-DOS....
